Chantal Worzala

Chantal Worzala, Vice President of Strategy and Engagement at The Sequoia Project, is an experienced policy expert with in-depth knowledge of the health care system. She helps technology companies, associations, provider organizations, and patient advocates understand and navigate the policy landscape. Chantal’s work includes in-depth analysis of policy and regulations, tracking innovation and market dynamics, and developing strategies to achieve results. She also regularly engages diverse stakeholders to build common understanding and coalitions. Chantal has a broad range of expertise in federal health programs, Medicare payment policy, healthcare quality, new models of care, value-based approaches, digital health innovation and adoption, interoperability, privacy, and administrative simplification. She’s a frequently invited speaker and the author or co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications. Chantal previously served as Vice President of Health Information Policy at the American Hospital Association (AHA), where she was recognized as a leading voice on digital health policy. She also managed the policy inputs for an extensive process to engage hundreds of healthcare leaders across the country to inform AHA’s policy development on key health policy issues. Chantal also served as Senior Analyst for the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. She holds a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.

Bren Shipley

Strategy & Business Development Lead, The Sequoia Project

Bren Shipley leads the Interoperability Matters Program at The Sequoia Project. Since 2018, the program has been a mainstay for industry engagement to tackle the most pressing, discrete challenges to nationwide health information sharing. With a background in business development and innovation consulting, Bren has leadership experience in the public, private and academic sectors to drive healthcare innovation and improve patient outcomes. She has a Master's degree in Health Advocacy from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut School of Business.

Elizabeth McElhiney, MHA, CHPS, CPHIMS, CDH-L, CRIS, CC

Director of Government Affairs and Policy, Verisma

Elizabeth McElhiney, MHA, CHPS, CPHIMS, CDH-L, CRIS, CC, is Director of Government Affairs and Policy at Verisma. She collaborates with clients to implement evidence-based best practices and oversees thought leadership initiatives. Elizabeth has worked in health information and release of information for 15+ years, covering all industry areas from customer service to compliance. She also worked on the team to create the AHIMA ROI microcredential. Elizabeth earned an MHA with a specialization in Health Informatics from Capella University, and a BA in Political Science from Illinois Wesleyan University.
